Holmfirth
Holmfirth is a Pennine village south of Huddersfield in the West Yorkshire district of Kirklees.
Although not directly associated with the Brontes, the village of Holmfirth is surrounded by the wild gritstone moors which are so typical of the scenery in this region, and has been made famous as the home of Compo, Clegg and Foggy in the long running BBC TV series "The Last of the Summer Wine".
To the south of Holmfirth lies Holme Moss and the northern edge of the Peak District national park.
