The Leeds Liverpool canal starts in Leeds and runs along the Aire Valley, taking in Shipley just outside Bradford, the industrial village of Saltaire, Hirst Woods, Bingley and Keighley before passing on to Skipton and Gargrave on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.

The canal then passes through the Aire Gap and back in to the Lancashire side of Bronte Country, passing though Colne and Burnley in Pendle en route through Lancashire towards Liverpool.
