The villages of Haworth and Oakworth on the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway in West Yorkshire's Bronte Country were chosen as the setting for the 1970 film version of E.E. Nesbitt's classic children's novel, The Railway Children, starring Jenny Agutter.
The film was re-made again in 2000, again with Jenny Agutter (this time in a more senior role), but for this version a different location in the south of England was used as the railway location.
