Drought conditions hit Bronte Country
Following a relatively dry winter and an unprecendented hot summer with record high temperatures being recorded in the England a state of drought in Yorkshire as well as other parts of the country was declared by the Environment Agency in August 2022.
Levels in reservoirs such as those in Nidderdale and the Washburn Valley (which serve the populations of Bradford and Leeds respectively) as well as reservoirs and rivers in and around Calderdale and Kirklees are all noticably low, with the public and businesses are being urged to limit their use of supplies.
