A group of residents, local businesses and community organisations (including representatives of the local press along with TV presenter and Bronte aficionado Christa Ackroyd) met in Haworth recently (February 2014) to protest about the proposed closure of the modern public conveniences facility building in Haworth Park.

Plans to close the toilets have recently been announced by Bradford Council, even though Haworth attracts tourists from all over the world and will again be on the international stage as the Grand Depart of the Tour de France comes through the village in July 2014.
