Haworth Wall of Art Details Announced for 2010

The launch of this year’s Haworth Wall of Art is scheduled to take place in Haworth on 10 July 2010 with a genuine rock’n’roll band (Mike Raffone and the Blue Tones) a 50s Disc Jockey (Oggy ) and street entertainers kicking off the event. This year's theme is the 1950s.

As in previous years a number of stretched canvasses will made available to the local community, each with a set of acrylic paints brushes. [N.B. The canvasses are supplied by Granthams Art Discount and the paints and brushes by Royal and Langnickle.]

Once finished, the works will be collected and fixed together to form one large themed installation. This will then be fixed to a prominent outside wall on the village’s famous Main Street, where it will remain on show for two weeks.

Once the "wall" is removed and dismantled, a lively auction will be held to sell off the individual canvasses. The proceeds of this auction pay for the following year’s event, with all profits going to charities.
