Details of Holywell Green community day announced
The Rock Hotel, Holywell Green is preparing to open its doors for a community day jam-packed with family-fun on Sunday 27th May 2012 (12pm – 5pm).
The community day is being held in a bid to boost funds for the Jack Marshall Tumour Fund and the Theodora Children’s Trust, following the success of the recent Masquerade Ball, which raised over £1,500 for the charities.
For one day only, the hotel’s car park will be transformed into a hive of stalls, including jewellery, crafts, gift cards, chocolates and cakes, as well as traditional games such as tin can alley and splat-the-rat.
Local residents will also be entertained by a brass band, routines from the Huddersfield Crusader Majorettes, a circus school and for those looking for something a bit more energetic there will even be an ‘hour of power’ exercise session. After all this, local residents will be able to replenish their energy levels with a delicious hog roast and paella served by The Rock Hotel’s very own chef.
However, the fun doesn’t stop there as tickets are available, priced at £5 for the evening entertainment and BBQ, from 7pm - 12am. Guests will be entertained by highly acclaimed local band, Loaded as well as a stand-up comedian guaranteed to crack a smile.
The money raised from the event will go towards the Jack Marshall Tumour Fund, which raises money to help increase awareness of childhood brain tumours, and the Theodora Children’s Trust, which trains clowns or ‘Giggle Doctors’ to visit more than 70,000 hospitalised children each year.
“We’re really looking forward to the community day following the success of the Masquerade Ball,” says The Rock’s duty manager Julie Pellet. “The charities are close to our hearts and it would mean a great deal to be able to raise as much money as possible for these worthwhile causes.”
Entry to the day event is priced at 50p and tickets for the evening entertainment are priced at £5. For more information please call The Rock on 01422 379721 [N.B. Please mention the Eagle Intermedia Bronte Country website when making your enquiries.]
