World Premiere for Local Produce Film to take Place in Keighley

Members of Worth Valley Young Farmers Club are inviting the public to come along to the world premiere of their new animated DVD about "Why Local Food Matters".

The DVD written and voiced by members of the club is the culmination of 5 years of work promoting and celebrating local produce in the South Pennines. The film was animated by Chloe Rodham, a talented young animator from the North East who the club have worked with before.

Club PR officer Sophie Ogden is one of only two members to have had a sneak preview of the film and is very excited about its launch. Sophie said “The first half of the DVD has been seen before but we always intended to add a second episode when resources allowed and support from the South Pennines Leader Fund has allowed us to do this. The second episode follows on from the first which explained why local food was important and tells people all the places where they can but it from.”

The club is hoping to attract many young people along aged between 10 and 16 as it is currently having a recruitment drive for junior members.

The DVD will air in the former Currys' unit of the Airedale Shopping Centre on the hour and half hour from 10am until 3:30pm this Sunday (18th November 2012) in the build up to the Keighley Christmas lights switch on at 4pm. Keelham Farm Shop who the club has partnered with for many years will be at the premier with a local food stall open throughout the day.
