The West Yorkshire town of Bingley is set to step back in time again as the Bingley 1940s Day returns on Saturday 23rd May 2026.

Following on from the 1940s Weekend taking place on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway just a week before, the event in Bingley brings a full day of 1940s related entertainment and community spirit back to the Bronte Country area.

This year's event features an expanded programme across two main areas, with the Myrtle Park bandstand and Jubilee Gardens Swingtime Square showcasing a packed schedule of live swing music, dance lessons, vintage DJs, and family friendly activities. Performers include The Sultans of Swing, Hayley J Walsh, and Stevie Cruz & The Legends of Swing, alongside dance sessions led by Jive Sue and classic wartime tunes from guest DJs.

A highlight of the day will be the RAF flypast, offering visitors a spectacular moment of heritage aviation. Across the site attendees can also enjoy vintage vehicles, classic cars, antiques, stalls, and community displays, creating an immersive 1940s atmosphere for all ages.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to dress in 1940s attire to help bring the era to life and celebrate Bingley's history with style. The event is free to attend and suitable for families, enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a great day out.
