Cyclists required for Bronte Sportive charity cycling event

The third "" event will take place on Sunday 15 July 2012 and cyclists of all abilities are invited to take part in the event which will raise vital funds for the Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope.
The event start and finish point is the Keighley Campus of Leeds City College in Keighley, and there are routes which suit all abilities from juniors and beginners up to the renowned "Bronte Monster" route. Ben Wood of event sponsors All Terrain Cycles is an elite rider who took part in last year’s event and describes the longest route as "a classic":
"The Bronte sportive is one of the hardest most underestimated rides in Yorkshire. The Bronte Monster route is 88 miles including 21 amazing climbs where 20% gradients really take it out of you. It's the Yorkshire version of the Fred Whitton challenge and supports a great local charity. I dare any cyclist to take up this challenge. See you on the start line."
Andrew Wood, Events Fundraiser for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice was keen to stress that the event is not just for elite cyclists. “This really is a fun cycling event that everyone with a bike can get involved in. The shortest Bronte Sportive route is just 4.8 miles, it's only £5 to enter and has the excitement of participants pacing themselves against the Worth Valley railway train from Keighley Station to Oxenhope. Last year four riders beat the train which took 19 minutes. Routes of 24 miles, 43 miles and 65 miles are also available in an effort to cater for all abilities. The early bird offer of entry for £20 for the five longer routes lasts until Friday 29th June after which it is £25. All participants receive a BBQ meal and a Ride for Ryder medal at the finish.
Also supporting the event is Ilkley Cycling Club following their hugely successful hosting of the White Rose Classic Sportive on 17th June 2012.
